human-centered design starts with understanding people.

that’s exactly what anthropologists are trained to do.

From ethnographer…

I began my career with a PhD in Cultural Anthropology, with training in a wide range of human-centered qualitative and quantitative research techniques. More importantly, anthropology taught me a first-hand appreciation for the diverse peoples and zeitgeists that shape our world today. My research took me around the globe, and many of my design choices are heavily influenced by the art, mythology, and imagery witnessed in my travels. The realities of the people I met impact the way I envision new products, services, and markets.

to ideator

I continued my journey into product design as a startup consultant, providing user and market research and drafting product design briefs. Over time, my desire to embrace my creativity while applying ethnographic sensibilities led me to embrace design anthropology and UX/UI design.

Today, I specialize in expanding bright ideas, applying data-driven refinement to achieve strong product-market fit, and creating high-impact narratives to achieve marketing or fundraising goals.

a renaissance

mindset

  • Minimalism is for people without an interesting story to tell. Impact design is decadent, opulent, and textured.

  • No one buys a product they can’t envision themselves using. Every user is a hero on their own journey, and great design is the soundtrack to that personal epic.

  • Design should not be dumbed down. Powerful design inspires and educates the user without resorting to simplicity.

  • Great design does not just appeal to a wide range of users: it inspires all users to embrace a broader, more inclusive state of mind.
